Suzanne Rust is a writer, lifestyle expert, on-air talent, and a native New Yorker. As a former staff editor for Real Simple Magazine, Suzanne was a frequent contributor to NBC's Today Show and has appeared as an expert on CNN, WABC, WCBS, WB11, NY1, FOX, PBS, and The Tyra Banks show, where she covered subjects ranging from health and beauty to cooking, entertaining, and organizing.
Rust has also hosted segments for the Today Show website where she taught viewers how to add curb appeal to their homes as well as how to whip up the perfect chocolate dessert. She is a contributing editor for Essence Magazine and for the MSNBC website, The Grio. Suzanne also spent many years as an editor for Black Issues Book Review where she helmed Children’s Bookshelf, and reviewed books on various topics from biographies and fiction to health and beauty.
The daughter of the late sportscaster, Art Rust Jr., and a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, Rust lived in Rome for several years where she worked in film production and wrote for Variety and Italian Elle. Fluent in Italian, she has also been an on-air reporter for one of Italy's leading radio stations where she interviewed celebrities and covered trends and cultural events.
